Squeaky floors, soft floors, and sinking floors can all be signs that something not-so-good is happening underneath your home. This homeowner's case was a bit more obvious and our design specialists knew exactly what was needed once they discovered the large sunken area in the floors of this home. The supports under the home was no longer as reliable as it used to be and were going to need some extra help. That is where our SmartJacks come in. These durable jacks can be installed to hold loads up to 60,000 pounds and can even be re-adjusted post-installation to make sure the floor is staying in the correct spot. Years ago, this homeowner decided to have a flimsy liner placed under their home, hoping this would handle any crawlspace moisture problems that may come their way. Later, after their floors had began to buckle, they took another look under the home and discovered a roughed up liner with plenty of standing water on top. The source of the problem had been found, but it was unfortunately a tad too late. They reached out to us hoping we could offer a more permanent solution, and we were able to provide them with exactly what they needed.  The old, flimsy liner was replaced with our tough and durable Cleanspace Vapor Barrier. To deal with the current and potential future standing water, one of our Sump Pumps were also placed into the crawlspace. Any water that might find its way into their crawlspace, will now be guided into the sump pump and then outside the crawlspace. Each time they take a peek under their home, these homeowners can not expect to find a clean and protected crawlspace.

This customer was experiencing high humidity and moisture in their crawlspace. They originally settled with the standard solution and placed fans under their home to try to dry out the crawlspace, but the entire time humid outside air was still flowing in and causing issues under their home. When they realized this wasn't going to solve their problems, they reached out to us for a more permanent solution. One of our design specialists, Ransom Ford, was fortunately able to introduce them to our encapsulation system. The first step is to seal off the crawlspace and lay down a heavy duty CleanSpace liner, blocking outside air and ground moisture. Adding a dehumidifier designed specifically for crawlspaces will condition this now enclosed space, essentially making it just another part of your home. These homeowners can now rest easy knowing they have a clean and dry crawlspace that will prevent the many issues their home may have experienced if they had just stuck with fans.
