This home on the gulf coast was having buckling floors due to moisture intrusion in the crawlspace. Because the under part of the house was open and exposed to the elements, it even had weeds growing under there. We treat crawlspaces like the inside of our homes. You wouldn't want open areas for critters, moisture, and humidity to enter inside your home - it's the same for under it.
We closed off all the open spots for ventilation and added a sealable access door. We then installed a sump pump for the ground water seepage and finished it with our encapsulation and dehumidifier.
