This home was built in 1946 and recently had been moved and set on piers. The standing water was causing severe moisture in the new crawlspace that was leading to buckling floors in more than half the home. Usual moisture content in wooden joists reads up to 16%. After this, mold can grow. This home's joists were reading upwards of 45%, which can lead to serious damage. Adding to the issue, the neighbor's yard was draining their rain water straight into this crawlspace.
Our team was brought out to give an estimate and ultimately, they decided to go with our encapsulation system. We completely sealed up the crawlspace to keep further moisture from penetrating it. Then we installed a sump pump to gather the ground water and pump it away from the crawlspace. This will solve their moisture problem and the floors should settle once they are dried out. Our system is designed to dry out and maintain the new atmosphere.
