Patio Troubles in Brandon, MS

Challenge

Everybody enjoys being able to get together with friends and family, and it is nice to be able to host your loved ones from time to time. These homeowners reached out to us with an issue that got in the way of the ability to do so. Their patio was in very rough shape, sinking, shifting, and buckling in different spots, lined with cracks and gaps, chunks missing, just uneven across the entire area. The state it was in caused them embarrassment, and they felt like they were unable to invite anyone over to hang out on the patio. They hated that it was aesthetically unpleasing, but looks weren't the only issue, it also was creating tripping hazards. A running child, or one wrong move from anyone could lead to disaster. They spoke with one of our customer care reps, Christina, and she, along with the rest of our company, wanted to everything we could to relieve them of these worries. One of our system design specialists, highly trained in concrete repair, was scheduled a date and time to go out and provide a free inspection and estimate. While out there, this design specialist, Donny did a thorough inspection of the patio area that was the main concern, but he also took some extra time to look at the unmentioned cracks all over their driveway. He finished his inspection, created a plan for both problematic areas, and took time to sit down and go over his findings and answer any questions from the homeowners, all on the same day as the original appointment. They were happy with what he had put together for both the patio and the driveway, and decided to let us come out and work our magic.

Solution

After getting scheduled for another date, we sent our talented concrete crew to get to work. Led by our concrete foreman, Brian, him and his team used a variety of our solutions to tackle each problem. NexusPro played a large part in this job, our high-quality crack sealant. Unlike conventional sealants, NexusPro effectively seals the concrete, defending against water, block erosion, and allowing for natural expansion and contraction without losing integrity. For both the driveway and patio, they expertly cleaned and prepared the surfaces, ensuring maximum adhesion for the NexusPro application. The sealant was carefully applied along the cracks and expansions, creating a durable barrier against the elements. This shield against moisture means water cannot get below the slab, removing the risk for erosion and voids that could allow these surfaces to shift further. Every joint, gap, and crack on each slab got proper attention! You may also notice in the photos that the one odd square of the patio has been replaced. Our company specializes in concrete sealing and lifting, we do not typically pour or replace concrete, but we couldn't walk away from this job unfinished! Our team came together and decided to do what it took to make this patio look right, and poured and sealed the concrete for that missing square.
