Rotten Subfloor in Moss Point, MS
Challenge
A homeowner contacted MidSouth Crawlspace Solutions after noticing concerns with the leveling and stability of his floors. Uneven or soft floors can often indicate structural issues beneath the home, and he wanted to address the problem before it became worse.
After speaking with Customer Care Representative Derosia, an inspection was scheduled. Design Specialist Scottie Stanford evaluated the crawlspace and identified structural damage, including deteriorated subflooring, rim joists, and floor joists that were contributing to the flooring concerns.
Why This Matters
When structural components beneath a home begin to weaken, homeowners may notice uneven floors, soft spots, or areas that feel unstable underfoot. Left unaddressed, these issues can continue to worsen over time, potentially leading to more extensive structural damage and costly repairs.
Addressing crawlspace structural problems early helps protect the home's stability, safety, and long-term value.
Solution
To restore the home's structural integrity, Production Specialist John Risher and the MidSouth Crawlspace Solutions team completed several repairs, including subfloor replacement, rim joist replacement, soft subfloor repairs, and floor joist repairs.
By repairing and replacing the damaged components beneath the home, the team was able to improve the stability and leveling of the floors.
