Ford C. gave us a call because he was having some serious issues with his floors and crawlspace. Because of the heavy moisture coming from under his house, his floors were buckling. He also was having some falling insulation that needed to be removed. We always advise our customers to remove any insulation from under the floors in the crawlspace. Unfortunately, it traps moisture in the subfloor and will lead to mold and rot. Many of our customers have subfloor rot directly from insulation.
With our encapsulation system, there is no need for extra insulation. We seal off any vents and holes to the outside, keeping the temperature at a close level to that of the inside of the home. Once the crawlspace is encapsulated and dried out, the moisture levels drop significantly, and a dehumidifier is installed to maintain the new atmosphere.
Once we completed this project, Ford had a new crawlspace that would help his floors level out again. The musty smell is gone, and we have a happy customer.
