Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Mold Growth and Wood Rot in Saucier, MS
While remodeling this home to make it her own, the homeowner wanted to make sure she wasn't just improving what she could see, but also protecting what's underneath.
During the inspection, MidSouth found a crawlspace filled with debris, old insulation, along with moisture related organic growth and wood rot. Portions of the subfloor, floor joists and a section of the main beam had deteriorated and would need replacing.
Typically in a situation like this, we would recommend addressing both the existing damage and them moisture conditions that contributed to it. This included removing debris and insulation, followed by a MoldX treatment. Damaged structural material would then be repaired.
Once the cleanup, treatment, and repairs are complete, a full crawlspace encapsulation would be installed to help control moisture and humidity beneath the home.
