These two photos come from the same crawl space and showcase just how big of a difference our crawl space encapsulation system can make on the underside of the home. They reached out to us with concern for their floors that had started to feel soft and sink. Taking a look under their home, it was easy to tell that the source of this problem was crawl space moisture. Not only was it affecting the floors, but it had allowed some mold to thrive under the home as well. In order to combat this, we installed our full encapsulation system, including the CleanSpace Liner you can see in the after image, and our crawl space dehumidifier and sump pump system. With the moisture and humidity contained, mold cannot thrive and the floors will be more protected than ever!
This was a unique project. This is the crawlspace of a home in Meridian, MS. Half of the crawlspace was formed into a basement for storage. The basement in this home use to have vents. A few years back an addition was added on to her porch and the conceret covered the vent. This was causing the basement to stay damp, and over time mold began to grow. The home owners daughter reached out to us, concerned with this affecting her mothers health.
This crawlspace was holding moisture, causing a mildew smell inside the home. Our crew cleaned out the debris and installed our full encapsulation system. We also sealed off all the vents to keep the outside air, outside. Our sump pump and dehumidifier will keep it dry, clearing out the musty smell. This is the only way to truly rid your crawlspace of smells and moisture.
This is the crawlspace of a beautiful home located in Columbus, MS. This customer was dealing with water damage from a busted pipe. We came in and installed a full encapsulation system to prevent any further water damage. To help with the pre-existing water damage we installed a dehumidifier to dry out moisture and keep from future wood rot.
There once was an attempt made by these homeowners to do something about the moisture problem under their home. Many people will recommend just a standard crawl space vapor barrier, a sheet of plastic laid on the floor of the crawl space to supposedly prevent the entry of any moisture. Since they ended up reaching out to us anyways, this solution clearly did not work for these homeowners! As you can see in the before image, this thin barrier ended up tossed around the crawl space, dirty, torn, and full of exposed areas for moisture to still make its way into the underside of the home. They needed a more permanent solution, and luckily we were able to provide just that! The new barrier you see in the after image is our CleanSpace Liner. It is much thicker, more durable, and securely fastened throughout the entire crawlspace, walls and supports included! Underneath is a dimple pattern, which helps lead water to the products that combine with our CleanSpace Liner, such as our sump pump system. This sump pump, the liner, and our crawl space dehumidifier come together to create the encapsulation system, an unbeatable defense against all forms of moisture. This shield against seepage, intrusion, and humidity is something you simply cannot get from a standard vapor barrier.
