This homeowner was in the process of moving and needing to sell their home. Their inspection found that the wood joists under the house were not rotted, but holding moisture that could lead to rot down the road. In order to sell the home, they had to get this taken care of. Henry Bennett, one of our Design Specialists, went out and did his own inspection. We found that his wooden joists were in fact reading above the normal range. Our production crew came in and laid down a vapor barrier so that the home would stay in great condition from here on out. Preventative measures are so important and save you money in the long run.
This messy and damp crawlspace is now looking new and fresh with all that clutter out of the way and our durable Cleanspace Liner placed down. The liner is making sure the damp floor doesn't cause any moisture damage, while that crawlspace dehumidifier you see is keeping the humidity at a safe percentage. This also helps prevent moisture damage, while making sure mold cannot thrive in the crawlspace.
Check out this before and after, featuring a once dirty floor acting as the perfect catalyst for crawl space moisture issues, and then our finished crawl space encapsulation! Just the solution this at-risk crawl space was needing.
Moisture in the crawlspace was causing this home's floors to buckle inside the living area. Melissa Johnson, one of our talented Design Specialists, performed the inspection and estimate on this home.
From our estimate, the customer agreed that this was the best way forward and had the encapsulation put in. We cleaned out any debris and were careful not to disturb the wires, pipes, and other units down in the crawlspace. Now his crawlspace will stay free of moisture and his floors won't buckle or cup again.
This homeowner reached out to us because their subfloors were swelling with moisture, which had caused their floors to bulge to a dangerous degree. If you take a look at the before picture our team captured, we're sure you may be able to tell why! That old vapor barrier just simply did not stand the test of time. Just a standard vapor barrier already isn't enough to fully protect against moisture, and it didn't help that this was one was torn and almost swallowed in mud/dirt. Lots of areas were still exposed for moisture to create an issue, and we came with the goal in mind to hit each and everyone of those problematic areas. Check out the massive difference our Encapsulation system made!
